Laurie E. Daniels
Laurie E. Daniels is an associate in the Workers' Compensation department at Mastagni Holstedt, A Professional Corporation. Laurie represents injured workers in all aspects of workers compensation litigation, including serious and willful misconduct and discrimination (LC 132a) claims. She has extensive experience as applicant's counsel, defense counsel, and in-house counsel to a nation-wide utilization review/medical case management company.
Laurie earned her B.A. in Honors English at St. Jerome's College at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, where she enjoyed an active campus and community life. After moving to California, Laurie worked in real estate for a couple of years and then returned to law school at Santa Clara University. She was a member of Law Review as Comments Editor, earned a certificate for her completion of the Public Interest Law Program, and worked as a research assistant for and student representative on the Conference Committee for Alternative Dispute Resolution for Silicon Valley.
In addition to her experience at the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board, she has significant experience in superior court, having worked for more than five years for the Santa Clara County Office of the Public Defender, and for several years as a Juvenile Dependency attorney in Santa Cruz County.
