Robert J. Jarvis
Bob is a retired Captain from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department. Throughout his law enforcement career Bob was influential in union matters on local and state governmental levels. He served on his local association board for over twenty years including four terms as President. Bob was also President of the Northern Chapter of Peace Officers’ Research Association of California (PORAC) for fifteen years and served two terms on the PORAC Board of Directors. During his 25 years of service to the department, Bob served as Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Watch Commander, Commander of the Detention and Administration Divisions.
After retirement from the Sheriff’s Department, Bob went to work for PORAC as the training and labor division manager. During his three years at PORAC he was instrumental in enhancing the quality of training while reducing the cost of training to both PORAC and to the members participating. He also developed proactive training seminars on a variety of critical issues including: 3%@50, binding arbitration, and media relations.
Working for the firm since 2001 in the Labor Department as a labor consultant, Bob provides decades of experience and negotiation expertise.
