Social Security Disability

Social Security benefits may be available to an employee who cannot work due to a serious injury or disability, regardless of age. The injured employee or the employee's dependents may qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits if a physical and/or mental impairment prevents the employee from performing gainful work for a period of at least 12 months or causes the employee's death.
