Ricky E. Martorana is an associate attorney in the Labor department at Mastagni Holstedt, A.P.C. He represents fire fighters, police officers, and other public safety employees in administrative, disciplinary, and critical incident investigations, hearings, and criminal defense matters. In addition to individuals, Ricky also represents and advises public employee labor unions on grievances, negotiations, contract enforcement, and unfair labor practices.
Ricky received his J.D. at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and his B.A. in Psychology at the University of California, San Diego. During his time in law school, Ricky obtained a diverse legal education with exposure and training in several fields including: Business, Bankruptcy, Criminal Procedure, Taxation, Negotiations, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Ricky graduated Order of the Coif in the top 10% of the 2019 Class receiving Witkin awards in Bankruptcy, Real Estate Taxation, Partnership Taxation and Legal Remedies. He grew his advocacy skills through his time working at the McGeorge Bankruptcy Clinic, the Sacramento Mediation Center, and as a member of the Moot Court Honors Board where he served as both a writer and oralist. Prior to joining Mastagni Holstedt, A.P.C., Ricky worked for the Franchise Tax Board and Deloitte Tax, LLP in the fields of taxation and public accounting.
