Joel Weinstein is a Senior Associate in the Labor & Employment Department of Mastagni Holstedt, APC. He represents public sector employees in administrative and disciplinary investigations, hearings, critical incident investigations, and criminal proceedings.

Joel has over twenty years of experience handling all types of criminal defense and litigation matters, with emphasis on trials and appeals, labor and employment, complex business and real estate litigation, negotiation, arbitration and mediation. Joel has worked for a variety of top firms in California and for Public Defender Offices in both California and West Virginia. As an Adjunct Professor for seven years in the Criminology, Law and Society Department at George Mason University, Joel taught Criminal Courts and Criminal Procedure and Constitutional Law. While in law school Joel was an extern for Chief Judge Marilyn Hall-Patel of the United States District Court, Northern District of California and was a Research Assistant for former California Supreme Court Justice Joseph Grodin.

Barred in California and Washington D.C., Joel is admitted to practice in all federal courts in California and the Supreme Court of California. Joel was previously admitted in West Virginia (via limited permission) and has argued successfully before the Supreme Court of Appeals in West Virginia.
